Jim is the Head of Development Finance & Public Institutions. He is responsible for CFM’s (CFM) business development with Development Finance Institutions, multilaterals, governments, and philanthropic organizations. CFM Is a leading climate-centric blended finance fund manager, focusing on climate mitigation and adaptation in emerging economies. CFM designs and deploys climate blended finance funds at scale and at pace, working in partnerships to develop climate-resilient solutions.
CFM manages three emerging market infrastructure funds focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation: Climate Investor One, a c.1 billion USD fund focused on renewable energy, and Climate Investor Two, a c.1 billion USD fund focused on water, sanitation and oceans infrastructure. CFM is currently raising a third fund - focussing on the energy transition (including green hydrogen) in Namibia and South Africa.
Established in 2015, CFM is a joint venture between the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, FMO, and Sanlam InfraWorks, part of the Sanlam Group of South Africa. CFM invests across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, with headquarters in The Netherlands.
Prior to CFM, Jim worked at the Dutch Development Bank (FMO), where he worked at raising and managing their off-balance blended finance programs with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Commission, and the Green Climate Fund. Before FMO, Jim worked at Deloitte’s public sector consultancy arm.
