Name
Panel session: Navigating the decline of ODA: New pathways for mobilizing private capital
Date & Time
Tuesday, November 4, 2025, 9:20 AM - 10:10 AM
Description

This session will foster a candid and provocative discussion on the future of ODA and its role in mobilizing private capital. It will bring together key decision-makers and representatives from donor governments from around the world to discuss and explore alternative sources of catalytic capital, and debate the conditions required for the private sector to take on more risk in emerging markets.

Key Discussion Areas:

  • How should ODA and foreign aid evolve to meet the moment? Looking to the past to transition into the future.
  • Should DFIs and MDBs be doing more with less? Have they become overly reliant on concessional capital?
  • Is the private sector ready to step up? Or will reduced ODA lead to capital flight from risky markets?
